Jewel Skitka Keen, 87, of Wauchula, died Saturday, February 3, 2018 in Avon Park. She was born December 16, 1930 in Wauchula, Florida and was a lifetime Hardee County resident. She worked as a Bus Driver for the Public School System until she retired. She was a member of Member of the WOTM (Women of the Moose) and a Square Dance Hall. Jewel enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of Faith Temple Church of God
She is survived by two daughters, Alice Faye McDaniel of Saint Augustine, Brenda Durance and husband Dan of Wauchula; one son, Wendell Keen of Avon Park; one brother Joe Skitka of Wauchula; five grandchildren, Brittany Maschmeyer, Brandon Durrance, Kellon Durrance, Huston Keen, Taylor Keen; and one great-grandchild Essex Maschmeyer .
Viewing will be held at the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 1:00pm – 2:00pm with Services following at 2:00 PM. Pastor Wendell of Faith Temple Church of God will preside. Burial will follow at Wauchula Cemetery.
